He may have ended up a loser in the SAA Supa 8, but Moroka Swallows goalkeeper Greg Etafia's heroics for the Birds have earned him a deserved place in the Nigerian squad for the African Nations Cup.
Etafia is one of three goalkeepers in the Super Eagles 22-man squad that will be captained by Bolton Wanderers' Jay Jay Okocha.
The Nigerian has been in great form for Swallows and was mainly responsible for the Birds reaching the Supa 8 final.
The Swallows number one is sure to present his countrymen with some inside information on Bafana Bafana who are in the same group (Group D) as the Nigerians.
Benin and Morocco are the other teams in the group.
