New kit for Bok Sevens
South Africa, the IRB World Seven Series Champions, are sure to stand out when they take to the field in Dubai in their new Canterbury Springbok Sevens Rugby jersey. Not only is the design a striking departure from the jersey that the Springboks wore in winning the IRB Sevens Series at the beginning of 2009, it is also the first time that a South African National rugby team is wearing kit that has been 100% produced in South Africa. The jersey is made of a very light, quick-drying fabric, to minimize sweating and enable the team to perform at their best and fastest. Replica jerseys can be purchased from the Canterbury Concept Stores and other select retailers. Call (021) 380 6399 to locate your nearest stockist.

The future of Tour de France champion Alberto Contador's Astana cycling team is again in doubt after the sport's ruling body made new demands of financial guarantees. The troubled Kazakh-backed team's inclusion in competition next season had appeared certain last week, when the oil-rich government pledged $22 million in financial support for next season. But Kazakh Cycling Federation deputy president Nikolai Proskurin said that the International Cycling Union is demanding a bank guarantee of Astana's annual budget before they renew their licence.

Juve fined for fans' 'offensive' song

A debate in Italy has been raging about whether the phrase is racist given Balotelli, born in Palermo, is black.
Moggi boss cleared of false accounting
Former Juventus general manager Luciano Moggi was among three men acquitted of charges of false accounting while at the Turin club, judicial sources said yesterday. Moggi, along with former Juve directors Antonio Giraudo and Roberto Bettega, had been accused of overseeing irregular capital gains from the buying and selling of players. Juventus were also cleared. Moggi, banned from soccer for five years for his role in Italy's 2006 match-fixing affair, is also standing criminal trial for that scandal and was handed a suspended 18-month jail sentence in January for transfer market corruption.
